Meramac State Park, Missouri

Still heading south and west to stay ahead of the cold weather and snow, so we are leaving Indiana and heading to Missouri.

Meramec State Park (https://mostateparks.com/park/meramec-state-park) is our destination for today.

Today’s excitement was getting through St. Louis (pronounced “Saint Lewis”), quite a few on/off ramps and lane changes in traffic and rain. Other than that, nothing exciting to report.

Quiet park, not many other campers here, but that may be due to the fact that an apparent Missouri State Park policy has all of the water being turned off in the parks at the end of today (i.e. no toilets tomorrow morning!!!).

No coffee for me tomorrow morning (see last para), so we will be on the road early!

Rosita is performing like a champ. We’ve had a couple of cool nites (3 degrees celcius) and we were snug as bugs!

A note on using a Canadian credit card at US gas pumps: when asked for a zip code, enter the numbers of the Canadian postal code associated with the billing address of the Canadian credit card (it will be 3 digits) followed by two zeroes (US zip codes are 5 digits). Example: for postal code K2E 7V4 enter zip code 27400.

We have noticed that more US gas pumps will accept our Visa”tap” than ever before.

If you use a debit card, you won’t be asked which account to deduct from (in our case it always deducts from our chequing account).
