Introducing Rosita…

In our last post we mentioned that we have now contracted with Krug Expedition to build “Rosie”, our new mobile home. What we haven’t yet mentioned is that Rosie won’t be delivered until December 2023.

We fully expected it to take several months, to over a year, to sell our existing home, so we put it up for sale right away. The plan was to live in our house and hopefully sell it just before Rosie was ready for us.  Slight change of plan… the house sold within days of putting it on the market, good news, but our plan was going to need a bit of an adjustment.

New plan: live in our converted cargo trailer until Rosie is ready for visitors.  We had previously converted a 7′ x 14′ cargo trailer into an RV. Introducing Rosita…

Rosita will be our new home until the fall of 2023. We are planning to travel throughout the western parts of Canada and the US. After living in Rosita for a year or so, moving into Rosie will feel like moving into a mansion!

Rosita may be a bit on the small side (about 90 sqft), but she has all the mod cons: coffee maker (highest priority feature), A/C, heating, cassette toilet, movable table with seating for two, fridge, microwave, convection oven, blender (another high priority feature for those slushy beverages), induction cooktop, Starlink internet and a reasonable amount of storage. Also, most importantly, Rosita has enough floor space for our two large furry dogs!

Rosita’s travels start in a couple of days. If anything interesting happens we’ll let you know!
