Day one of the adventure and we are off! Leaving Ottawa and heading for the USA, where we will be spending the next few months.
First stop is Rondeau Provincial Park (http://rondeauprovincialpark.ca/about-rondeau-park/), not far from the US border at Detroit.
Our Garmin GPS led us astray: it took us to a road that dead-ended at a washed out bridge. Back-tracking and following some detour signs eventually got us to the park after dark. Easy to access campsite, so no problem getting backed in and set up in the dark.
Rondeau is situated on a peninsula in Lake Erie, water all around. Nice camping sites and dog friendly (they even had a dog beach, but we didn’t get to check it out as we got in late and left early).
No cell signal where we camped, and our site was in a treed area, so no starlink either – no internet tonite!
